Today, the question of whether residing in rural areas or urban ones would bring people a healthy lifestyle has sparked a controversy. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument in detail and provide evidences as why residents in big cities would get better healthcare.

There are some reasons why some hold the view of living in rural areas is better for our health. First, since countryside have more spacious places but less population, residents’ living environment can be ensured. In fact, the number of people residing in rural areas is much lower than that of big cities, so places like forests and fields would be utilized to provide such a green space with fresh air. This is beneficial for residents’ physical and mental health. Second, if people choose to live in small villages, they can distance themselves from hectic schedules of work and study which are common when it comes to working in metropolises. Village dwellers would find time to prepare food or even grow vegetables and fruits for their daily meals instead of picking up from convenience stores. In this way, not only their health is ensured but also their life is much more balanced.

However, I would argue that city dwellers are provided with many healthcare advantages. First, it is easier to find hospitals with advanced medical facilities where they can be treated carefully. Additionally, people would get to be cared by well-trained and experienced practitioners which cannot be found in rural regions. Second, if there was an emergency or a complicated case which local doctors cannot deal with, it would take patients few hours or even few days to be transferred from local clinics to advanced hospitals in big cities. This would put patients’ lives in danger.

In conclusion, both kinds of living environment have their own benefits. By considering all the pros and cons, people would choose the suitable place to reside.

It is thought by some that it would be better for people to live in urban areas as a way to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this could be true to a certain extent, I am of the view that living in rural areas also bring many health benefits to people.

There are two main reasons related to health why people should attach great significance to becoming city dwellers. The most visible would be that in doing so, they can have more opportunities to approach the up-to-date healthcare systems, that have an important role to play in dealing with various diseases such as cancer or pandemics in this day and age. In addition, private-owned enterprises tend to invest in building fitness facilities like gym rooms in cities. As a result, people can find it easier than ever for them to work out at the gym on a regular basis with a view to maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind.

However, in my view, the upsides of living in the countryside should not be overlooked for several factors. From a catering perspective, it would be more beneficial for rural residents who live in such places to have the chance to enjoy healthy diets with fresh fruits and vegetables. By contrast, before being transported to cities, these kinds of agricultural products are more likely to be sprayed with toxic chemicals in order to keep their quality, which could have an adverse impact on the health of those living in the cityside. From an environmental perspective, people who opt to settle in the countryside are able to stay away from air pollution, which could be a huge issue that urban dwellers are struggling with on a daily basis. This, therefore, would help them to get fit and trim in the long run.

In conclusion, even though I do not deny the health benefits that urban citizens have, I still believe that those who are living in rural areas also gain certain merits for their health.

Task 1: The graph gives data about the proportion of enterprises with three different sizes in terms of the use of social media to do business over a period of 4 years.

It is noticeable that apart from the figure for large companies, others saw an increase in the percentage of companies using social networks over the period shown. Moreover, the proportion of large companies that employed social media for business purposes was highest in all years.

From the graph, we can see that there was a significant rise in the figure for social media usage of small businesses from around 27% in 2012 to nearly 50% in 2016, despite a small decrease in 2015. Also, in 2012, just a little over 30% of medium companies used social networking sites in the business, and this number rose quickly to around 48% in 2014, but it suddenly declined by around 18% 1 year later, and then went up to around 53% by the of the period.

By contrast, this number of large companies remained relatively stable over the first three years, at around 78%. However, it also went down to 54% in 2015, before recovering to just under 80% by 2016.

Overall, it is clear that using social media for trading purposes became more and more popular among all types of companies. Additionally, the large organizations were by far the top social network users.

Overall, what can be inferred from that chart is that the bigger a business was to more usages there were to social media. Moreover, the presence of social media in large enterprises remained stable at about 80% over years, whereas it increased steadily in small and medium ones.

Despite mentioning above that the 2 figures in small and medium businesses climbed over the given period, drops were witnessed in 2015. Though it was only an insignificant drop for small businesses from around a third to roughly 30%, the drop was remarkable for medium ones as it felt from almost a half to approximately 30% as well. However, the numbers increased rapidly in the following year as it reached almost 50% for small enterprises and just over 50% for medium ones. The access of social media in big businesses also decreased down to just above 50%, the number continued to caught up with the original numbers at 80% in 2016

It is a belief of many people that the healthy lifestyle is more achievable than it is in cities. Others claim that there are many health-relating advantages of living in a city. This essay’s aim is to discuss both views as well as to show my inclination.

On the one hand, it is the facilities that make a healthy lifestyle achievable in the city life. The numerous of hospitals and fitness centers are the main reason why people in big cities could keep up a healthy lifestyle. For example, people can easily get regular medical checkups as well as diagnosed with potential diseases extremely fast, whereas people in the country side have difficult times getting access to medical services. Additionally, due to the significant grow of fitness centers and gyms in large cities, people can remain and motivated to stay in good health condition easier more than ever.

On the other hand, one of the biggest benefits of living in the rural countryside is the environment. To be more specific, not only water sources that are pure and great in quality, the clean air also contributes to why it is easy to stay healthy in the countryside, in opposed to the extremely polluted environment in cities. For example, most people living in crowded cities have to wear facemasks whenever going outside if they want to keep their lungs healthy. Moreover, the food is usually homegrown or come from reliable sources that make the countryside so ideal for keeping fit. For instance, since the majority of people living in the countryside are farmers, clean vegetables and meat will never be in a shortage condition. As a result, food poisoning or health problems are rarely witnessed in the rural areas.

In conclusion, I believe that a healthy lifestyle could be achievable anywhere as long as one is determined enough.

The question whether recreation activities should be selected by parents or by kids themselves has sparked a controversy. Both sides of this argument will be discussed and give evidence why I suppose children have a right to do whatever they want in their spare time.

One the one hand, there are several reasons why some think that parents should set up leisure time activities for kids. First, kids especially those at the young age are vulnerable, they are not aware of dangers when participating in indoor or outdoor activities. In fact, some outside games like swimming and hiking could cause physical injuries for young participants. Therefore, parents with practical experience and knowledge can play a role as mentors helping their offspring choose the right games with safe playgrounds and prevent them from unexpected damage.

However, I would argue that children should be free to have fun activities themselves. First, since academic subjects at school are mostly picked by parents, it is a good idea if kids can choose what they do for fun after school. In fact, doing what they enjoy is the great way to recharge their battery and reduce stress after long nerve-racking days. Some would even expand their social circle by meeting and sharing the same interests with their peers. Beside, being controlled by parents somehow can be detrimental to kids’ feelings. Many of them would feel irritated and stressful with this strict monitoring, leading to negative attitude and bad behavior in the long run.

In conclusion, although parental guidance in activities outside of school could protect children from potential threat, I believe that kids can be happier if they do what they truly enjoy.

Phần bài của bạn nói chung thì không sai quá nhiều về mặt ngữ pháp và từ vựng, tuy nhiên thì thông tin trong bài của bạn còn khá khó để hiểu vì việc miêu tả thông tin còn thiếu sót chi tiết quan trọng. Bạn nên cải thiện phần này để cải thiện band điểm của mình bạn nhé.

Về phần bài Task 2 thì mình thấy bài viết của bạn có thể đạt được điểm 6.5 bạn nhé. Phần bài của bạn nói chung không gặp quá nhiều vấn đề về ngữ pháp và từ vựng (nếu có thì không ảnh hưởng nhiều đến nghĩa). Tuy nhiên thì bạn nên chú ý một chút trong việc đảm bảo ví dụ của mình có liên quan và được diễn tả một cách rõ ràng hơn bạn nhé!

Answer:

The table chart gives data about the export values of 5 different products in the years 2009 and 2010.

It is noticeable that in comparison with the number of clothing and manufacturing, which declined significantly over the period shown, others saw a rise during the same period. Also, the figures for equipment and telecommunity were in the majority in the both these years.

From the chart, we can see that in 2009, there were 10.3 $HK billion in the export value of equipment, while the number of telecommunity was lower, at just under $8 billion. However, a year later, this number of telecommunity rose to $12.7 billion (an increase of 61%), whereas the percentage of equipment just grew by 13%.

Turning to the remaining categories, the amount of money earned from exporting clothing was only $6 billion in 2009, followed by the figure for manufacturing, at $5.5, respectively. By 2010, the proportion of clothing fell by 17%, compared with 27% for manufacturing. By contrast, the amount of money earned from selling metals to foreign countries was smallest in 2010, at 2.3 billion, but it rose by 122% to $5.1 billion in 2010. Moreover, there was a dramatic increase in the overall export value from $32 billion to $38.4 billion during the given period.

It is thought by some that it would be better for adolescents to eat healthy at school. While this could be true to a certain extent, I am of the view that we as adults should also teach young people who live under the same roof with us how to prepare healthy meals.

There are two main reasons why youngsters should attach great significance to healthy diets at school. The most visible would be that nowadays, a high-quality education system is more likely to hire dietitians who mainly take responsibility for designing and preparing good meals for schoolers based on their weight, height, and age. Without a doubt, people may struggle to prepare such meals at home because of the lack of specific equipment and nutrition-based knowledge. In addition, the teacher act as a facilitator, enabling their pupils to have a healthy diet. Also, they are able to find it easy to restrain the amount of junk and snack food that learners consume at their classes by putting strict fines on those who dare to do so.

However, in my view, the upsides of teaching our children to have a healthy meal at home should not be overlooked for several factors. First and foremost, by doing that, we have more opportunities to engage face-to-face with our children. As a result, this is not only to help young people to maintain a healthy body but also to build a strong family bonding with them. Last but not least, it is extremely beneficial for people to know how to cook well as a way to become more independent and mature in the foreseeable future and these impressionable youngsters are just able to learn this vital skill via following their parents at home.

In conclusion, even though I do not deny the importance of eating healthy at school, I still believe that parents also have an important role to play in the schooling of their children with regard to this issue.

Answer:

It is sometimes argued that it would be better for children to opt to play activities that they desire. While this could be true to a certain extent, I still believe that parents should also attach great significance to organizing useful games for them.

There are two main reasons why it is more beneficial for adults to let adolescents have their own choices in their spare time. The most visible would be that in doing so, these youngsters have more opportunities to stimulate their natural ability and set up a positive mindset, that would bring certain benefits to them later in life. In addition, enabling young people to have their choices can be also one of the most effective ways out to help them to develop an independent study habit when they start school. Without a doubt, youngsters should be encouraged to be more independent because this prepares them to work alone as adults.

However, in my view, the upsides of the opposite standpoint should not be overlooked for several factors. First and foremost, there are numerous advertisements aimed at children nowadays with a view to selling more and more products to this kind of clients. Truth be told, many of those adverts may have an adverse impact on impressionable youngsters and online games could be a vivid example of this. Therefore, adults should act as a facilitator, enabling adolescents to have right choices. Last but not least, parents are those who can understand their offspring deeply and thus, they may know suitable activities that positively affect to the development of those young people.

In conclusion, although children should be free to choose what they want to do in their free time, I would argue that parents also have an important role to play in the schooling of those youngsters by supporting them in organizing positive games.

The table illustrates the changing value from exporting five different products in two separate years, 2009 and 2010, measured in HK billion dollars

Overview, it is clear that the export earning increased in all goods except for clothing and manufacturing. Additionally, while equipment was a leading product, metals showed the most significant increase in their figure.

Looking at the graph in more detail, over the period given, the total value of exportation increased 20% from 32 to 38,4. To be more specific, earnings from equipment and telecommunity accounted for the highest figures, with 10,3 and 7,9, respectively. After a year, these goods both recorded a rise of 13% and 61%, accordingly as well as a replacement of the major role as the dominant product. The other item that showed a dramatic increase over the same period of time was metals, its number rocketed 122% (from 2,3 to 5,7).

Turning to the remaining data set, exporting clothing and manufacturing goods contributed smaller values. Their numbers witnessed a decline of 17% and 27% for each.

There are two main reasons why people should attach great significance to their traditions. The most visible would be that customs and cultures that were formed in the past by their ancestors in some ways can make it easier than ever for them to build a sense of attachment to their mother homeland. Boating games in Vietnam, for instance, are one of the most prominent activities that are held on an annual basis with a view to remembering heroes who died to protect our nation. In addition to this, by maintaining traditional activities, locals may find it easy to attract foreign tourists who are more likely to visit a nation in order to see unfamiliar cultures. This, in turn, can have a positive impact on the economy of local areas because the locals are able to provide various services such as transport, accommodation, and catering service for those foreigners.

However, in my view, the upsides of personal behaviors should not be overlooked for a number of factors. Firstly, it is extremely beneficial for adolescents to be encouraged to create new activities as a way to develop creativity and set up a positive mindset. Secondly, numerous traditions like drinking blood animals in Vietnam are out of date, and therefore, following them could have an adverse influence on the next generations. Last but not least, some modern activities such as Parkour and street dancing soon become new traditions that also draw great attention of people across the world.

In conclusion, although I do not deny the importance of traditional cultures, I still believe that we should act as a facilitator, enabling young people to create novel activities.

Task 1: The plans show a student common room five years ago and now.
Answer:

The two pictures compare the current layout of a student common room with its old design of 5 years ago.

It is noticeable that there are a number of changes in this common room, mainly in the central hall area, while the external wall and entrance still remain unchanged in terms of size and position.

From the plans, we can see that there were 4 round tables with 6 chairs for each in the hall area 5 years ago. However, 2 of them were removed and replaced by a rectangular table with 10 chairs and a bench for laptops at the present. Moreover, another round table which used to be located at the right corner was moved to nearly the rectangle-shaped table to make room for the drinking machine. In addition, the television and 3 armchairs at the moment are put in the original place of the drinking machine.

On the left side of the entrance, there were 2 benches in this area 5 years ago, but one of them was demolished to make way for an additional microwave. Despite the above modifications, there were no changes with the cupboard, the sink, the refrigerator, the old microwave, and the remaining bench.

Overall, the room has undergone a significant development, specifically with respect to some leisure facilities.

Looking at the two plans in more detail, a noticeable change is positions of study tables, two round tables are removed to make room for a long rectangular one and it is then moved towards the entrance. In the south part of the room, a workbench is installed in which students can use their own laptops. Additionally, in order to help learners have a space to relax, a new TV and three armchairs are set up in place of a bookshelf in the southeastern corner.
Turning to the North part, the room has been equipped with other kitchen facilities like a cupboard, a sink, two benches, a microwave and a fridge, allowing students to have meals here. All of these appliances have remained unchanged, except for one bench which is converted into a new microwave. Besides, students can also get some drinks at a drinks machine right next to the fridge.

Whether following the traditional things or expressing independent viewpoints is such a debatable problem for most teenagers and young adults today. This essay will analyze this problem from two views and give some opinions to support the idea that people should combine both traditional and newer values.

First off, encouraging young people to maintain old values in their society is considered prominent in the context of globalization and modernization. This can be explained in numerous ways, but forming society's basis inherited from the previous generations is the most important reason. Advocates for this idea claim that, by learning from ancestors' lesson, the youth will follow the social evaluation standards to control themself and live morality. Furthermore, preserving old customs or habits contributes to developing a sense of patriotism in most citizens. If young people forget these traditions, they will never understand how hard the ancestors built and prevented the whole country until now.

However, some others are of the opinion that, in modern society, people need to be allowed to behave freely. They think that the old traditions are out-of-date, in comparison with the development of their own country. Besides, they believe that individualism is the process of cleaning stereotypes, which is the main for the inequalities between different inhabitants' levels in feudal societies. For example, old traditions usually judge the values of men higher than those of women. Men have more chances to study and strive for high positions in society, while women are just considered for the pregnancy and taking care of babies, or cooking meals in their homes.

In conclusion, my firm conviction is that, although there are many arguments about the importance of traditional or modern values for the current lifestyle, establishing the connection between traditions and modern values stabilizes the transformation between traditional relics and modern achievements. I strongly believe that people, especially young adults, need to combine and make use of the two mentioned positive aspects views.
